Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an effective treatment for depression. At the core of CBT is the assumption that a person’s mood is directly related to his or her thoughts and behavior. By learning coping skills to change patterns of thinking and behaving that have resulted in depressed mood, individuals can overcome depression, while increasing reliance on their own skills and abilities. Health Behavior Solutions has been awarded $725,000 in funding for these efforts in the form of four Small Business grants from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).
